Comet ISON survived its closest approach to the sun


Comet ISON survived it trip towards the sun as it made its closest approach nov 28. The comet appeared on the other side of the sun on the evening on Nov. 28, 2013, despite not having been seen in observations during its closest approach to the sun. It l;ooks smaller as it moves away from the sun but the scientist believes that a small nucleus is still intact and will continue its journey. The unique orbit of the comet makes it the apple of the eye of many scientist. It was believed that it will gain enough momentum as it passes the sun and continue an endless journey away from the solar system never to return again.
